Food of the week - Edamame


  These just popped out of the freezer at Trader Joe's and did a little dance in front of me, right there in the aisle.  Not really, but that's how I felt when I saw these.  I had always heard about edamame (I avidly read all health food-related articles I see) but I never tried it.


These were especially appealing because they only take 5 minutes to pop in the microwave and then enjoy the roasted garlic and chile goodness.  So I bought them, took them to work, and tried it.  AND I LOVED IT!  A few times, I didn't even bother heating them up.

Eventually, I started buying the shelled edamame (rather than in the pods) and throwing a little dried minced garlic and chile powder on them.  Same great flavor, same great food!
