BGT - October 29

Welcome back for a Halloween Baked Goods Thursday!!  My Funfetti cupcakes got a spooky makeover this week..take a look for yourself!

The skeletons were the first thing that I tackled - and the easiest!  I frosted all the cupcakes with chocolate icing.  Then for the skeletons, I put some vanilla frosting in a Ziploc bag, and cut a teeny tiny piece off one of the corners.  I tried my best to draw a simple skeleton on the cupcakes, and this is how they came out!

The ghost cupcakes were next.  I took a Nutter Butter cookie and cut a little off one of the ends.  I frosted it with white icing (it took a lot of icing to cover the whole cookie because there are ridges that I didn't want to show through).  Then, I took a Ziploc bag and put chocolate icing in it.  I cut a very little piece off one of the corners, and drew on the face.  Then, I stuck the cookie into the middle of the cupcake (if you put it too far to the edge, it breaks the cupcake and the cookie falls out).  Just put some icing where you were holding the cookie, and ta-da!  You have a ghost cupcake!

I thought the Frankenstein cupcakes would be the most difficult to make, but they weren't complicated at all.  It just took a little patience.  I took some white frosting and mixed green food coloring into it.  I then took a marshmallow and frosted around it, and one of the ends.  I then put the marshmallow (with the frosted end down) onto the cupcake.  I put a little chocolate frosting on top of the marshmallow's head to look like hair.  I used two M&M minis for eyes, and placed a teeny bit of chocolate frosting for the eyeball.  I took the Ziploc bag with chocolate frosting and drew on the mouth, and placed two green Tic Tacs by the side of the marshmallow, and there you have it!  Frankenstein!

Until next time, happy baking!
