BGT - October 22

This week: Witch's Hats!

Hi everyone!! I'm here with this week's baked good.  Except there was no baking involved this week - just a little more creativity than normal.  This week I made mousse filled witches' hats.  It took me two stores to find chocolate ice cream cones, but you can find Oreo cones in Stop & Shop.  It also took me three tries to find cookies big enough to put the cone on while still leaving a "brim".  I tried Grasshoppers, but they were too small, as well as Fudge Stripe cookies.  The final ingredients that I ended up with are:

- 3 boxes Oreo ice cream cones
- 3 boxes Stop & Shop Hometown bakery chocolate sugar cookies
- 1 box Jello Pudding & Pie Filling Instant Chocolate Chip Mint Pudding
- 1 tub Lite Cool Whip
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- half a bag chocolate chips
- assorted sprinkles

1.  Melt half the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl.  Carefully remove the ice cream cones from the packages. (I used three boxes because some of them were broken inside.  I ended up with 24 cones total.)  Dip the tip of the ice cream cone into the melted chocolate, and roll it in sprinkles to coat.  Place the cone standing up on wax paper to dry.
2.  Combine the pudding mix and milk in a bowl, and whisk it together until combined.  Fold in the cool whip until completely blended.  Let stand for a few minutes.
3.  Melt the rest of the chocolate chips.  Take one of the sugar cookies and draw a circle of melted chocolate on it, big for the cone to fit on.  This acts as the glue to hold the cone to the cookie.
4.  Fill the cone with mousse.  Then place it on top of the cookie, making sure it sticks.  Do this for all of the cones.
5.  Refrigerate for an hour to allow the mousse to set.
6.  Eat and enjoy!
